
Travel RN - Behavioral Health in Coldwater, MS
Job Description
Are you a compassionate and experienced Travel Registered Nurse with a passion for mental health? We are actively seeking skilled Travel RNs in Behavioral Health to support psychiatric and behavioral health units across the country. As a Travel RN in Behavioral Health, you'll provide specialized care to individuals facing emotional, psychological, and behavioral challenges-while experiencing the flexibility and adventure of travel nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, monitor mental and physical health status, and identify changes in behavior or condition.
• Medication Administration: Safely administer psychotropic and other prescribed medications, while observing for side effects or adverse reactions.
• Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care through crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and therapeutic communication.
• Care Coordination: Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and multidisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
• Patient Advocacy: Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment while protecting patients' rights and dignity.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of treatment plans, behavioral observations, medication administration, and nursing notes.
• Crisis Management: Respond to psychiatric emergencies using appropriate clinical judgment, de-escalation, and safety protocols.
Requirements:
• Active and unencumbered RN license (state-specific or compact).
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in behavioral health, psychiatric, or mental health nursing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and crisis-resolution skills.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced and emotionally demanding environments.
• Flexibility to work in a variety of psychiatric settings (inpatient, outpatient, detox, etc.).

Qualifications:
