Travel RN - Cardiovascular ICU in Huntsville, AL

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring at least 3 years of cardiac ICU experience and proficiency in swan-ganz monitoring.

Job Details

• Work in the Cardiothoracic ICU of a Level I Trauma Center,
• Care for high acuity cardiac ICU patients,
• Average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 on both days and nights,
• Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 - 07:00),
• Requires work every other weekend,
• Uses Epic for charting; proficiency required,
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required,

Job Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license; pending license accepted,
• Minimum 3 years of cardiac ICU experience required,
• At least 1 year of Level I trauma center experience required,
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS,
• Experience and proficiency with swan-ganz monitoring equipment,
• Must provide documentation for flu vaccine (declinations not accepted) and COVID vaccine/booster unless eligible for religious or medical exemption,
• No prior issues on nursing license will be considered,

Additional Information

• Primary responsibilities include caring for critically ill cardiac and cardiothoracic patients,
• Role is in a large, high-acuity, academic medical center setting,
• First-time travelers accepted with relevant experience in CTICU or critical care,
• Travelers must reside 75 miles or more from the facility; locals not accepted unless specified,
• Former permanent staff must have a 2-year gap before being considered as a traveler,
• Facility may auto approve up to 7 days of requested time off; requests over 7 days require approval,
• Seasonal flu vaccine is mandatory with no declinations allowed,
• COVID and booster vaccination required unless exempt,
• Professional attire or hospital-specified scrubs required,
