Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 5x8hrs • Hours: 40 hrs/wk • Start Date: Feb 17, 2026 • Length: 13 weeks • Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager RN to oversee NICU and Pediatric units, requiring a CT or compact RN license and strong leadership skills. Details • Position provides management for NICU and Pediatric units within a hospital setting • Average daily census is 7-9 in NICU and 2-3 in Pediatrics • Responsible for a staff of 50-60 RNs and 2-4 PCTs • Shifts run from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with variable times and weekend rotation Requirements • Active CT or compact RN license required • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher • AHA BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications are required • A minimum of 3 years bedside RN experience and 2 years relevant leadership experience • Demonstrated ability to manage scheduling, FTE calculations, and supply chain functions • Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred • Certification in nursing leadership or specialty preferred • Two recent professional references from managerial staff are required for consideration Additional Information • Role provides day-to-day operational oversight of both NICU and Pediatric units • Fosters strong communication and collaboration among staff and physicians • Supports patient experience initiatives and provides direct support to teams as needed • Participation in performance management and staff development is expected • Candidates who previously worked within the health system may be subject to eligibility review • Completion of required online modules prior to assignment start is mandatory • Local candidates within 60 miles are eligible at a reduced rate • Professional dress or appropriate scrubs are required per unit standards
