Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 4x10hrs • Hours: 40 hrs/wk • Start Date: Mar 2, 2026 • Length: 13 weeks • Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with strong cardiac and trauma proficiency for a position at a Level I trauma center in Iowa. Details • Work in a 16-OR hospital setting with an average caseload of 35-50 cases per day • Service lines include cardiac, vascular, thoracic, neuro, ortho trauma, robotics, gynecology, urology, pediatrics, general, transplant, plastics, and ENT procedures • Special equipment includes three DaVinci robots, Stealth neuro navigation, and Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma • Shifts include weekend call coverage from Friday end of shift through Monday morning • Floating is required across multiple campuses • Operates at a Level I trauma center • Epic EMR system is used and recent experience with Epic is required • Scrubs are provided Requirements • Active IA or compact RN license required • BLS certification from AHA or ARC required • Minimum of 24 months current operating room experience required • Recent circulating and scrubbing experience in the operating room required • Strong cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and general surgery experience required • Recent experience with Epic EMR within the last 3 years required • Experience with trauma Level I cases and additional service lines such as robotics, pediatrics, neuro, ortho trauma, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, and ENT procedures highly preferred • Previous travel assignment completed within the last 12 months required • Driver's license required for consideration Additional Information • Responsible for both circulating and scrub roles in diverse surgical specialties • Expectations include less than 20 minute OR turnovers • First time travelers will not be considered • Team structure supports high-volume, complex surgeries with specialized technology • Travelers are expected to work 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) • Only one requested day off is allowed between specified holiday blocks • Scrub attire is provided by the facility • A 50-mile local radius rule applies for local candidates
