Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring cardiac experience, Epic proficiency, and a Missouri or compact RN license in hand.
Details
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital environment
• Cardiac-focused patient population including cardiothoracic surgery, chest pain, post-cath lab interventions, and other cardiac-specific diagnoses
• High patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required with limited time off (RTO) during holidays
• 13-week contract
Requirements
• Active MO RN license or compact RN license — permanent license required, temporary licenses not accepted
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cardiac experience required, including cardiac drips, cardiothoracic surgeries, chest pain, post-cath lab interventions, and other cardiac-specific diagnoses
• Experience managing high patient ratios (1:5–1:6) required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, and participation with Rapid Response/Code teams
• Additional clinical duties include management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (including titration), heparin protocols, PCA management, and blood product administration
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral IV care and management required
• Respiratory care responsibilities include chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Additional skills include wound care/wound vac, feeding tube management, pre/post hemodialysis management, surgical drain care, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Pre-start facility modules required, averaging approximately 4 hours and completed prior to first day
