Deliver specialized nursing care within a dedicated Progressive Care Unit focusing on cardiac and respiratory patients. This opportunity involves working in a 30-private bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care department, providing continuous care alongside a skilled team. The unit features remote cardiac monitoring with a centralized system to support patient safety and effective treatment delivery. Responsibilities include managing complex cardiac and respiratory cases, interpreting and responding to dysrhythmias, providing telemetry monitoring, and supporting patients before and after cardiac catheterization procedures. Care for patients with congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, arrhythmias, and respiratory conditions such as COPD and pneumonia is essential. Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to titrate and manage various cardiac and vasoactive drips and utilize rapid response interventions as needed. Shift Schedule: • Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) • Weekend rotations and holiday coverage as required • Scheduling coordinated through a self-assisted system to balance workload and patient needs Qualifications & Experience: • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers welcomed • Current BLS and ACLS certification required; NIH certification preferred • Previous Charge RN experience is a plus • Proficient in cardiac patient care, including telemetry, line management (PICC, peripheral), chest tube care, tracheostomy management, and procedural sedation • Comfortable working 1:4 ratios for cardiac patients with drips/BIPAP, otherwise 1:5 • Experienced with electronic health record systems (EPIC) • Strong teamwork skills with support from nurse assistants and secretarial staff Location Overview: Situated in Reidsville, North Carolina, this area offers a welcoming community with accessible amenities and a moderate climate.
