Registered Nurse (RN) Qualifications

Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of submission)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing setting

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (2 attempts permitted)

Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient care skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult patients on the Medical/Surgical unit

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans

Administer medications, treatments, and nursing procedures as prescribed

Educate patients and families on health conditions, discharge instructions, and post-hospital care

Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation

Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
