A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity: RN - PCU Job Details: Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Travel RN position on Trauma Stepdown unit (636) 25-bed surgical trauma unit located on 5th floor of main building Patient ratio of 1:4 (maximum 1:5 for stepdown) Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH stroke certification Floating requirement to stepdown service lines including Progressive Care Unit and Heart and Vascular Unit EMR system: Meditech experience preferred No on-call requirements Trauma/orthopedic experience preferred Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and be a team player Care for patients requiring acute surgical intervention including trauma, bariatric, vascular, orthopedic, and neurosurgery Manage post-operative patients and those with neurological diagnoses Administer IV drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardene, Dopamine, and others Perform vital signs every 4 hours with continuous telemetry monitoring Complete patient assessments every 4 hours Adaptable to changing environment with strong communication skills Facility: This Level 2 trauma center provides comprehensive surgical and trauma services with 90% of inpatients coming from the emergency department.
