Key Responsibilities
• Standards of Practice: Follow the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, demonstrating competence through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Standards of Professional Performance: Engage in professional role activities encompassing ethics, communication, collaboration, and leadership while promoting safe, high-quality nursing practices.
Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program. A BSN is preferred. All newly hired RNs must obtain current BCLS certification within one month of hire.
Experience: Foundational role for all RNs, with encouragement to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.
Licensure: Active and registered nurse license in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification is highly encouraged.
Special Skills: This role lays the groundwork for all RNs, with opportunities for professional advancement through the SPIRE program.
Physical Demand: The position involves prolonged standing and walking, as well as exposure to infectious diseases. It requires physical capability to manage patients ranging from 5 to 300 pounds. You will encounter emotional and physical challenges, including end-of-life conditions.
