What You'll Do:

As a Wound Care Registered Nurse, you will be integral in assessing, treating, and monitoring wound conditions. Collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary team, your care planning and interventions will enhance wound healing, comfort, and overall quality of life for our residents. You will serve as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator, improving care for those with complex wound needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and provide expertise in the wound care and prevention program for residents and staff.
• Conduct comprehensive wound assessments and create individualized care plans for patients with skin complications.
• Administer direct wound care interventions, including dressing changes, debridement, and wound irrigation.
• Review, update, and direct the implementation of wound care and prevention policies and procedures.
• Monitor wound healing progress and assess the effectiveness of treatment modalities.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on wound care protocols and prevention strategies.
• Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of wound assessments, interventions, and outcomes for regulatory compliance and reimbursement.

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a Wound Care Registered Nurse include:
• Valid state RN nursing license.
• Degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, or microbiology preferred.
• 2+ years in wound care management, preferably in a Long-Term Care setting.
• Familiarity with research-backed wound care and cleansing products.
• Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) Certification preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Compassion and empathy in caring for residents with complex wound needs.
• Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and chronically ill.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
